His story.
After being friends for many years and hanging out more often in spring of 2018 AJ finally asked me "do you want to do this or what" I replied with a resounding "Absolutely"! And our journey began. Our first real date took place shortly after (there were many baseball related outings together that time of year and Ashley was with as she has many friends on the team as well) Discovering a mutual love for travel, motorcycles,DIYing, breweries, being with friends and trying new things, our adventures together began! From trips to Florida and Colorado, home remodels, starting a business and moving in together, we have cherished these past 4 years of memories. We got engaged Feb 2021. It was at sunset on the beach in the Florida Keys. I proposed nearing the end of the trip to surprise her using the same words that started our journey together. "Do you want to do this or what" Ashley's head immediately spun around..... We are thrilled to tie the knot, continuing our story with our favorite people by our side. We can't wait to celebrate with you on May 29, 2022
Her Story.
12 years ago Ben bought the house next door to my parents. I met him in passing a few times but just knew him as “neighbor Ben” with the really nice lawn. I moved back to my mom’s house my sophomore year of college so got to know him a bit better, he played town ball with a bunch of my friends and ran in the same circles as I did. Life went on, over the next several years, I had lived all over from Mankato to the cities, but we always remained friends. We would see each other or make plans to hit the famous town bar for band nights, many of these nights my parents didn’t even know I was in town, I’d just crash on the neighbors basement couch! Yes, I’m talking about Ben. In 2016 life threw us both for a curve ball. Our challenges we were going through were more relative and woven together than one could imagine; that made it easy for us to be each other’s support system. We had this secret little friendship, people didn’t realize how good of friends we really were.. including my parents.. the neighbors! Ben being the guy he is was there for me in any way that I needed, whenever I needed. Being such good friends I felt like maybe every now and then he was catching feelings so I just gave him my classic “Ben Breaks” and a week or two later I’d be his friend again! I stayed most nights with my parents instead of at my own townhouse, so I would always just pop on over to see what he was doing, hang out, watch a movie, have a cup of coffee on Saturday mornings sitting at the bar rail in the kitchen just talking for hours. This became a pretty regular thing.. when I would close the bar instead of waking up the dogs and my parents Ben always left the door open for me to sleep on the couch. The thought of ever being in a romantic relationship with Ben didn’t exist.. until there were no limits on the idea anymore. In 2018, Ben 2.0 made his appearance, he grew a beard, he started a new life. I already knew how supportive he was, how loyal he was, how great of a friend and person he was, so I let the idea in. Finally one Wednesday night I finally asked him “so are we going to do this or what?” without hesitation he popped up and said “Absolutely!” we haven’t turned back since. Almost 3 years later walking on the beach in Florida I heard him utter those words from behind me “so are we going to do this or what?” and I knew exactly what I was turning around to, Ben on his knee with the most beautiful diamond ring. Imagine my complete surprise when he had always said “no vacations, no holidays or birthdays, has to be on a Tuesday in the hallway (that’s a whole other story)” I believed him, the blubbering mess I was said absolutely. Some people don’t ever get to experience what real love really feels like, when they say, you know you, it’s true, you really do. I cannot wait to become a Morrison <3
